8/21/2006 - Salt

Posted in Ritual

Salt can be a very useful thing to have and use, and it is easily procuered, considering I would say nearly everyone has common table salt at the table or in the kitchen and if not it is easily enough purchased, though some prefer sea salt or find it more effecitve that is fairly easily purchased as well and can be found in a standard gorcery store in most cases.

I find it is a good idea to keep salt handy for magickal purpose and use. I have a bottle of salt within my room as well I keep a bit of salt in a bag within my grigri pouch. Salt makes for a good deterenet of negitive energy and hostile spirits. It is good for contatining or detering and baring malevont entities.

One of the best and most effective ways to use it if you are having a problem with negeitive energy or entities in your hourse is to line the threshold of the each of the doorways with salt. The entities will not cross over it.

Salt can also be sometimes used in clensing, paritaly if clensing right after conduting a ritual because any negitive energy reisdue that might have been left behind will be repelled with the aide of the salt. If doing a summoning it may also prove a good idea to have salt and perhaps line your circle with salt as an extra way to contain that which you summon or prevent anything else from comming through.
