8/23/2006 - Horseshoe

This is a supersition that is rather well known and quite common. Most people are familler with the symbolism around horseshoes being charms of good luck. It is said that if you hang a horseshoe over your doorway pointing up (so it is in a U shape) it will bring all around good luck to your household. If you hang it up side down (so it is in an n shape) then it will bear ill tidings. The reason for this is becasue faced pointing up it is almost cup like to hold and contian the luck which comes your way, but pointing downard word it will dump all the luck out.

Wheather a horseshoe really has any power to bring good luck I cannot say but I can say that I have taken something of a liking to this supsersition in part becasue of my foundness of horses. And so I do have a horseshoe now hangning above the door to my bedroom.
