8/25/2006 - Lore of the Seasons

The Celt's belief that the seers and other wise persons could tell the future by watching birds in flight had a basis in close observation of seasonal change. They no doubt tracked geese flying in a regular migratory pattern-whether heading toward warmer climes in winter or making the reverse journey in summer.

Remind yourself of the cycles and order of the earth by looking out for birds, animals and flowers that herald the turning year. If you are a city-dweller, visit a park or the country at least every month. Take into your heart the sweet balm of nature preforming its perennial dance of time.
