9/27/2006 - Offering

Here is a ritual of my own creation and making which I think provides a good way to make offerings to the Gods, to give them your thanks as well as to seek from them guidence and comfort in times of need, and to help establish a place you can feel comftrable and a special connection during times of need.

Choose a tree or a plant which you are particuarlary found of or drawn to. It can be within your own yard, in a garden, or it can be in a park near where you live, it dosen't really matter as long as you have access to it. When you wish to give a blessing to the Gods, or when you wish to seek thier insight, weeave a little human figure from grass, straw, weeds, anything natural and easily obtianable, it does not have to be anything complex but could be rather plain and simple, think along the lines of a stick figure drawing, or if it makes you happy you can make something more intercate, but you should not include anything unatural, so no man made cloth such as ribbons and so on. Then leave your woven figure beneath the tree or plant, close to either the trunk or stem of it, and say your thanks, or ask for the guidence you need. You can also just use this place as somewhere to sit and think and get away from the world when you need. But every time you vist the tree/plant you should leave behind another little woven figure behind. And if it in a grassy area you may make the figure right right there beside the tree as you set and comtemplate upon your troubles.
