For one who has been through a demanding and soul-destroying relationship, the following brew may help to heal the heart, body and soul. The wild pansy, or heartease has numerous other common names, reminding us of its former status as a love charm and ingredient in love magic: kiss-her-in-the-buttery, love-lies-bleeding, cuddle-me.

You will need: no more then 1/2 cup dried hearease (espcially flowers but some leaves), a bottle of red wine, a pinch of each nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon, 1 teaspoon honey, candles to burn durring sipping in colors echoing the tri-cloring of the flower.

Leave the flowers and leaves to soak in some cool red wine for about an hour. Add the spices and honey and let them infuse another hour (be careful not to make the brew any stronger asit might otherwise cause nausea the oppisite effect to the one desiered) Heat the wine gently for ten minitues then strain the liquid into warmed cups. This must be drunk hot, by candlelight and is excellent when enjoyed in a bath.

Honostly I do not know what they taste like, I know I have been in a resturaunt before that served pansies on the side like a garnish, almost like parsley is served, but I never acutally tried them before.
