Black pepper wakes a suitor out of reverie and asks that they attend to the words acutally being spoken, not those they would like to imagine were forthcoming. Thus for instance, if you were to have dinner with someone you really wanted to deter from making advances, a mixture of black pepper and mint spritzed on to your wrist and pulse points would be quite a turn-off
