5/24/2007 - Invocation of Bacchus/Dionysos

I have always been found of Dionysos, the genreally well known god of Wine, and patron of the stage. This is an invocation I have created and written myself for Dionysos, also known as Bacchus, his Roman counterpart, though the later Greeks had taken to calling him Bacchus as well.

O'Great Dionysos

friend to man and beast alike

I invoke thee this night

Bringer of joy, good cheer and ectasy

Great Bacchus I ivoke thee!

Spread your fertile seed

acorss the land

giver of life

patron of duality

I invoke thee!

Dionysos of the vine

Bacchus of wine

from your chalice let life flow free

O'Great God I invoke thee!
