With this thought, it's no surprise that General Motors was the organization that produced the first two-seat sports car in the usa. General Motors happens to be "ahead with the game" in terms of innovative concepts and producing cutting-edge vehicles. The Corvette only agreed to be at a later date in arena of GM dream-making perfection.

The Corvette Concept
In 1927 Chevrolet hired a guy by the name of Harley Earl, who in the future, could be in charge of the appearance of the Chevrolet Corvette. After WWII, soldiers returning from overseas were buying MGs, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos as well as other cars of similarity. Designed with these details, Earl was able to convince Gm with the need for a two-seat American sports car. The effect would be a 1953 Corvette, which was originally hand-built in Chevrolet's Flint, Michigan delivery center.

The Corvette Name
Myron E. "Scottie" Scott, will always be highlighted ever because the man who gave the Corvette its name.

In 1937, Chevrolet hired Myron Scott as a possible assistant director for your Advertising department. Here Myron was accountable for the photography, marketing and public relations with the new cars. Her served this task for quite some time.

In 1953, a special executive meeting was arranged to find a reputation for a new Chevrolet performance car that was being developed. Following suite, the company wanted a reputation that started with a "C". Over 300 names were thought up and submitted for the running, but none of them of the 300 names made the ultimate cut.

That night Scott what food was in home looking through the "C" portion of the dictionary and discovered the phrase "corvette" - "a speedy pursuit ship in the British navy". The next day Scott suggested "Corvette" towards the group and everybody loved it.
