Southern Book Club

• 5/18/2005 - my friend James

I have gotten into trouble with the administration for posting information about books here and mentioning other websites and they are giving me the following message

Major Update: CONTEXTUAL TARGETED ADVERTISING is PROHIBITED on free member pages. Terms of Service

Upgrade Account to remove advertisements on main journal page: click here

From now on I must be careful what I put here.

I do want to tell everyone about James Sawaski and his wonderful book "The Chess Team".  I recommend that you find it at Amazon or somewhere and read it.  He is a wonderful writer and this is a book that I highly recommend.

• 5/21/2005 - You are allowed to advertise

Posted by AntOnaf
Greetings,

I'm the owner & founder of Journal Home and I came across your blog and noticed there was a bit of confusion. I apologize. You are allowed to advertise and link to any website you wish. Contextual Targeted Advertising has only been prohibited. Contextual Targeted Advertising is simply a Pay Per Click engine such as Google Adsense...(if you do not know what this is...then you have nothing to worry about). Contextual targeted advertising is not allowed because the third-party terms of service does not allow multiple contextual targeted ads on the same page and since Journal Home already displays contextual targeted ads we had to avoid any third-party violations.

I'm not sure if that has cleared things up or confused you more, but it comes down to you are allowed to advertise and you can link to any website you wish. Journal Home is very free and we like to make your blog your personal space as much as possible (free to do whatever you please...adhering to the Terms of Service) and we do little to no moderation. I apologize for any confusion, but feel free to link to any website you want.

Regards,
Ant Onaf

I read it - not a bad story at all, however, I can see how it is geared for a younger audience. My son read it and liked it more than I did. He read it twice!
