"ps: do you recommend one of these blog things? What might the point be for instance?" A good question and eloqently put Monsieur. I feel that both questions here are intimately connected. The point of one is personal. If there's no point for you then I wouldn't recommend one. However, consider ... Weblog's are as fashionable as fuck at the moment and if you haven't got one ... well it could leave feeling old, washed up and out of date. But, if you've got one imagine this scenario. There's a certain person you're trying to impress down the local pub/club/McDonanlds/launderette etc. A topic comes up in conversation and you can say "Actually I just put an entry in my weblog all about this." You give them the url, go home and write something interesting before they see it. And if you don't know anything about the subject you can still appear an expert. Simply cut'n'paste stuff from other internet sites. Added to that there's a permanent record of your wisest words for millions of people and posterity to view. So a weblog is immortality. Thousands of years from now people will still be able to log on and refer back to exactly what you said. Imagine if Jesus had had a weblog. We wouldn't have to put up with all that Biblical shite. |

I haven't looked at many of these blog things, but I must say, it's a bit tecchie. Chipsets and Bios and puppies on strings indeed. What about some good old-fashioned "wallpaper motion reports" and "reportages from the frontiers of human consciousness" and all that fun stuff. It is mid september after all. I'm still up in the air as to whether to move to Dublin or not because of course conflicts. Besides, the people there are freaky- they say hello and make eye contact. ararggh!
