I get loads of spam. I guess my spam filter isn't configured very well. But this has to be the oddest spam email I've ever recieved. What the hell is it trying to sell me? I haven't a clue. If you know please tell.

Well after Mr. C's tales of Paradise from sunny Thailand here's a different perspective. (taken from an article in The Land is Ours newsletter 23)

Around 80 Muslim land rights campaigners were killed in October 2004 after being rounded up by the Thai army. Witnesses say a riot started when police fired live rounds into a crowd of 2000 demonstrators outside a police station in Takbai, southern Thailand. The dead were crushed and suffocated after being packed tightly into trucks and driven to Pattani province following 1300 arrests.

Campaigners in Narathiwat province say they have legitimate frustrations due to economic deprivation, denial of land rights, freedom of religion and language, as well as the right to run their own schools.

Human Rights Watch and other rights groups have been consistently reporting cases of torture, kidnapping and disproportionate force by Thai security forces.

I got sent this pic and have to say it just about sums up the whole Katrina disaster for me.
