The McCain campaign used a bunch of flags that were apparently thrown in the trash and left by a dumpster outside the stadium where Barrack Obama had his famous speech.

The Obama campaign says that they're using this to take essentially a cheap shot at the Obama ticket.

Does throwing American flags after a rally in a trash mean you're anti-American?

This is going to be one of the moments where people will be talking about this in their homes or at dinner and "rednecks" will be upset to hear this story.

This doesn't help Obama at all if the story is in fact true, the "rednecks" are the voters he needs essentially to win the race.

We'll see what happens in the next few months and whether this hurt him at all.

There has been this debate for a year or so on different forums on the web whether a person should buy a Core 2 duo processor or Quad.

The Core 2 duo's (Wolfdale or 45nm) can overclock to 4ghz and use 10% less power. So with most applications you're going to see a performance boost because of the FSB and the higher stock clock of 3.0ghz. $169 for the 3.0ghz wolfdale.

The Quad core's are a pricey option but you can buy one for $189 right now with the FSB at 1066. Now some people will say that a quad core isn't necessary, but think about this..

If you multitask a lot and play games, keep programs open and minimize a lot etc. The Core 2 isn't going to handle those functions as well as the quad could.

Video rendering is definetely better on 4 cores.

The threading debate is also there but I'll stay away from that.

For people who use computers for the internet and writing papers etc the core 2 duo's are plenty for that, but if you game and do a lot of CPU intensive things I recommend the quad core with go stepping as they call it.

Go stepping allows you to clock higher thanks to improvements to the architecture.

9/5/2008 - For Mac Buyers:
Posted in Unspecified

Make sure you hold off on getting a macbook or macbook pro for a few months, Apple is going to be releasing updated models soon for the same prices that the old ones are right now.

Don't let yourself get cheated like I did in 2006 with my macbook, a month later they released the core 2 duo's.

I wasn't happy.... but I learned from it.

AMD is in a pricing war with intel which is great news and their black edition processors offers some promise for later on.

Intel is beating them in performance and power consumption, two very important things for high end machines and over clocking.

The Intel processor's have been giving people lots to smile about as a lot of people know. But...

For those of you who don't follow much technology and use a computer to type for your blog or school papers, etc. You don't really give a damn.

Well, here's why you should give a damn!

Most processors on computers sold in the 500-$1000 range are outdated and advertised as new, yes they are NEW but they are not new to to the market.

These are marketing ploys to take advantage of people. (In my opinion).

So anyway if you're going and buying a new computer, ask them these simple questions.

1. Is the processor an AMD black edition Phenom (has 4 cores) or 6000+ x2? If you're buying an AMD computer of course.

2. Is the processor an intel conroe (65 nanometer) or wolfdale model? The conroe's are great for most applications but the wolfdale is the current lineup of core 2 duo's right now. (45 nanometer size)

3. Is the hard drive 7200 RPM SATA or IDE? (SATA is much faster to keep it simple)

4. Is the video card PCI Express 1.1 (x16 is the fancy name on boxes for it) or PCIE 2.0 ? (2.0) is most current but costs more money. PCI Express is the latest port where your video card goes into (it's the standard now)

Now they may try to say that yes it is, but really the motherboard probably supports X16 only and you can get away with buying it because PCIE 2.0 is able to run on the old 1.1 for people who don't want to change their system immediately.

PCIE 2.0 is the future so keep that in mind. If you buy a computer with it you're going to be well off for a while.

Ask these simple questions and you'll probably annoy the salesman/woman and they'll have a more difficult time scamming you.

9/5/2008 - McCain's Speech
Posted in Unspecified

I spent a lot of time thinking about this last night so I wouldn't post right away about it.

It was a good speech, but he failed to talk about the economy a lot.

If he wants to win this election he has to appeal to the "blue collar" people who voted for Hillary.

He is failing to communicate with them and this is going to hurt if he lets Obama snatch that block up. McCain is pretty confident he will win because of a woman, but does that really make a difference?

Hillary voters would never vote for her because she is a conservative, pro-life, and she is a hockey mom/working mom.

The feminists all believe she is submissive by being a mother of 5 children and because she isn't a democrat like Hillary. Pretty hypocritical if you ask me, but we know a lot of women voted for Hillary because she is a woman.

Soledad O'brien has 4 children under the age of 10 and she is considered a hero in women's minds.  Fair is fair!

Some of you can argue that point but its a known fact that most of Hillary's core supporters only wanted a woman to win. Don't try to lie about it or say "we have minds of our own". Of course you do!

But women do follow along with the "sisterhood" if they feel they have to. Look at the Coach brand for one example, it's amazing to me how many women have their products, it's a trend and of course these women have their own minds....they still buy what they see other women doing.

Men do also with cars but it's not as prominent in this case because Hillary is a known feminist and is proud to get the feminist voters.

Sarah Palin is now a household name and the news networks won't shutup about her, I can't shutup about her because she is really the focal point of the news and we aren't getting much info besides her.

With that said her speech last night was good....but she failed to mention the economy or the "successes" in Iraq which would have been key.

Taking cheap shots at Obama was merely a waste of her time. Our time also..

I hope McCain understands having her in the spotlight only makes him look like the 2nd place candidate now behind her. He's got a lot to talk about later on today.

The new Google Chrome browser has really impressed me, it reminds me of Safari but a step further.

The usability was well thought out and the speed of the browser is faster than Safari on the Mac.

It's a shame it's not out for OSX yet but if you have Windows I suggest you give it a try!

With the assault underway on Sarah Palin, one has to ask the fairness of the entire attack. Is it fair? No, clearly this is a sexist double standard that Obama's wife gets a pass and Palin is going to be ripped apart.

Whether you like her or not, this is a reminder of the primary for Clinton supporters,I remember the "Barrack do you need another Pillow?" line in one of the debates Hillary used.

It resonated with female voters and essentially turned her run into a competition after that.

Obama's people in the mean time have made a huge mistake, if McCain airs an ad with Hillary's words about the pillow and the way the press or whoever is examining Obama, this is going to get ugly for his female support.

They better start backing off before Obama takes a hit with women that will give McCain a win in November.

Is the focus on Sarah Palin's pregnant 17 year old a help for Obama?

Absolutely, this helps Obama because while he is out on the trail and in small towns across America he will be able to stay with the theme that was shown at the convention.

Obama won't be scrutinized while Sarah Palin is the focus of the news networks.

We'll see what happens at the RNC convention this week and whether Obama's ads are shifted on Palin's experience and possibly this issue about her child.

The news stations have been reporting this story about Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter who is 17 years old.

She is keeping the baby it has been said and is planning to get married. This story is really not relevant to the campaign or for the public to know. This is a cheap shot in my opinion.

I have to say at least the girl is being responsible and taking responsibility for her "mistake" and raising the child. Although teen pregnancy is a cultural issue that is debated, I think most of these girls are being normal.

Most girls by the age of 16 years old want to learn what sex is about as an informational experience. Do I encourage the behavior? No, but I won't be getting angry at a girl if she has a baby and wants to keep it.

This whole thing is a waste of political time, lets talk about the issues.

It has been written in history books that during the 19th century people found politics to be entertainment and they wanted to be apart of the process.

This was a society which was more informed about candidates and was more into the political process.

50% of this country today doesn't vote. Big change due to T.V. and other things. Pop culture is one thing to blame, but I blame our congress.

Nothing gets done most of the time and there's not much to look forward to in politics. Sure every 4 years we can hope for change,

 but it never happens.

So why care now? If more people cared and pressure was point on congress we might get things done.

The whole point of my blog is to inform people in a fair way and to promote politics as something that we should all care about.

As I watched all these morning talk shows about this campaign, I noticed no one was really talking about Barrack Obama anymore.

Palin has taken all the democratic thunder away it seems. This means Obama better start spending more of his money to keep the message going. The real mystery here is whether Palin is going to live up to the excitement around her.

Will she be able to handle Biden in a debate about foreign policy?

All these questions have been raised. I think she will do fine because she will be scripted ahead of time for the debates and she is not a stupid woman.

John McCain is a shadow of Sarah Palin now, I think some Republicans are seeing Sarah Palin as the Presidential nominee now instead of "St.John" as people have called him. If he wins she will be the President in 4 years and that's a big deal.

She would have to go up against Hillary and she would be experienced enough to give Hillary a good fight.

Palin according to Rasmussen earns positive reviews from 78% of Republicans, 26% of Democrats and 63% of unaffiliated voters. Joe only earned 43% from voters. This is bad for Joe Biden, the senator from Delaware has a lot of ground to make up if he wants to get more independent voters.

There seems to be a lot of debate amongst commentators on CNN and other networks now that the news of Sarah Palin being chosen for Vice President by McCain was announced.

Biden was a good choice in my opinion because he can appeal to many of the blue collar voters that liked Hillary, but would Hillary have been a automatic victory for Obama?

Absolutely. She would've united the Democrats quickly if she was chosen, but she and Obama would battle for the spotlight too much if she was. I want to know what you readers think..

Sarah Palin is an interesting choice for the candidate some label as "St.John McCain".

McCain looked pretty happy knowing that he has a chance to get some former Hillary ladies on his side for the election later this fall.
I believe that Palin will be difficult for Biden to rip apart considering her history is clean.

Maybe she will get Hillary voters to join her side, maybe not. Regardless she brings a new dynamic to the Republican party and allows the female base in the party to get excited about voting for a woman.
I doubt that Hillary is against her pick at all, considering we all know she wants to be President and in my opinion she should have been picked as Obama's V.P. (No offense Joe Biden people).

She probably wants McCain to win so she can have another try in 4 years, can't say I blame her since this was a crazy primary.
The future is clear, it's all about women for later on, they're the future of Presidential politics and we might see a number of female Presidents later on as we all age.
