October 25, 2006 - Carling Cup - Valiants through!!
Posted in football other

Port Vale 0 Norwich 0 (3-2 pens)

Well done to the Vale for getting through to the 4th round for the first time in their history. It has to be said that that's a shockingly bad League Cup record, though!

I bet the roof was raised on Lorne Street, well at least half anyway!

I'll be watching the 4th round draw with interest hoping they get either an Evrton or Aston Villa away. If they do then I will be tempted to adopt a disguise and be a Vale fan for the evening. I may go along as Ratty from Toad Hall. That is only when the true valiants have had a chance to buy their tickets.

Post A Comment!

October 26, 2006 - G'DAY DAVE.

Thank you for popping in to visit again and leaving such a glowing comment. Took me a while to find your page stuck over on page two of the blog archives. Years ago when our son was small and played soccer, we used to go to all the matches and hubby coached and I was his team manager, orange cutter, spare boot lace lady, sandwhich lady and drink lady for all the kids. Most parents used us as a Sunday baby sitting club...hence all the extra sandwhiches and drinks I had to cart along, couldn't feed our son and not the others my heart wasn't up to that. Sometimes we had to run from the end of one game to another so the kids could make up enough for a team and play a second game. Great memories and your blog of soccer grounds bought all the memories flooding back. Our boy is in the army now and played there for a good many years. He is now 35 years old and doesn't play anymore because of the tasks he is now doing. I best get off before I write a mini novel about junior soccer. Take care and stay safe. Love and ((((hugs)))) from Dawnie :-)
