product extends the benefits of traditional Internet Traffic Management
(ITM) to all IP (Internet Protocol)-based applications and services.
The new patent-pending technology in BIG-IP called the Universal
Inspection Engine and iRules provides the ability to switch, persist,
and filter any type of application or Web service based upon content
encapsulated in a packet's header or payload. The resulting benefits of
this capability are extremely significant, allowing the product to
support the complex security and high availability requirements of
today's Web services, enterprise and mobile applications - making them
simpler to implement and maintain. The result is a dramatic gain in
operational efficiencies and cost-savings. F5 Networks' BIG-IP 1000
Series is an ultimate price/performance switch, delivering all the
capabilities of BIG-IP Application Traffic Management software. The
BIG-IP 1000 provides the power of a 1 (GB) X 8 (10/100) switch, with a
platform that features fewer ports and integrated SSL.
