7/12/2008 - the great hope

This is history in the end of a legacy of issues that many may face now or in the future. My personal view of an election is broad. It explains to myself who, what, when, and why. Simply how does it affect me as a man, race, ethnicity, faith, also politically in ways of improving my outlook in country from where I stand today. Also as a being in a nation that has much interest and that of what will decide who I will be with the aspirations and goals I have. A candidate will deliver a message and I think it is important for me to know who it is intended for. For them it is more than personal, it is business. So economically I face many concerns. In my life whether in school, health, employment the message has been very clear. Financial aid, bill me later (at the hospital), and doing what will settle me for now (minimum wage). This has only affected me short term, but I don´t think many other people in my social class has been burdened by this condition. What has burdened people like me is long term. Will my probability of doing better by trying harder make a difference and cause me to expect more. I believe one would agree that it seems as if the clock is moving, but our well being has not. I want a candidate that understands this, because from the two American candidates I see have had a different kind of upbringing. I think the phrase that has been used is that both are a real American story. Both grew up in homes from my understanding were traditionally American to the extent of the people they were brought up around, privileges, and opportunities that were outstanding. So it makes it hard to understand where I stand as a man, who just so happen to be born in America, and have the true American story that many of those may have had to go from one bad situation to the next. To the point of desperation to where we do what we have to do to get by and struggle is second nature something we understand. It is sad that they would have to hop in an SUV to ride with a man to get gas, and walk through an impoverished community to know that somewhere under the big shots that run this country or who live the American dream, yes, there are a big number suffering. What this does is leaves a big whole and dark side in this country not just around the world who are never heard, but being mislead to vote for those who could care less, but would like your vote on the basis of, "hey, I am for you." You may look like it, but you don´t walk like it.
