May 10, 2008 - My first tentative step into the so-called blogosphere.
As much as I've resisted it, the future of journalism lies in this disjointed, somewhat smarmy, diamond-in-a-pile-of-dung world known as the "blogosphere." A medium as loosely regulated and as widely viewed as internet blogging is inherently dangerous for all involved, readers and writers alike, and I would be lying if I told you I wasn't nervous. As a note, when I speak in second person, I address the void, as I can't imagine I have anything resembling a readership right now.
A little background on myself: I want to be a science journalist. I want to open up fascinating ideas and concepts to an audience that might otherwise be afraid of approaching them. My background is in astrophysics, and my favorite food is cheese.

Blogging is like anything else in the world there is the good and the bad, it has its advantages and perhaps its disadvantages.
